When Touro College of Dental Medicine set out to open its new school and large clinic in New Mexico, the goal was simple: get the place running fast, without the usual IT headaches. They wanted students and faculty up and working in weeks, not months. That meant no long infrastructure projects, no local servers, and no complicated desktop setups. The challenge was to deliver a reliable, secure, and seamless experience that matched what everyone was used to at the main Hawthorne campus, and from day one.
At Hudson Cloud Systems, we already manage Touro Dental's IT systems in Azure, including all servers, thin clients, and Azure Virtual Desktops (AVD). For the New Mexico campus, we extended that same proven environment into a new location. We shipped the thin clients preloaded with the IGEL operating system, which automatically connected to our management server in Azure. As soon as they powered on and joined the network, each device pulled the correct configuration settings and downloaded the required components on its own. There was no manual setup needed—just plug them in and connect them to the network. Everything runs in the cloud through our Cloud Portal.
We also used Imprivata to enroll users' ID cards, giving everyone a true tap-and-go experience. Instead of managing passwords, users simply tap their ID card and enter a quick PIN to log in securely. The process is fast, consistent, and secure across every workstation, creating a seamless workflow that supports both academic and clinical environments.
By launch day, students, faculty, and clinic staff were already teaching, learning, and working in their systems without a hitch. That's the kind of result we aim for every time: a new school or clinic that just works on day one. The New Mexico rollout proves what we've built is repeatable and scalable. It is a model that lets institutions grow faster while keeping IT simple, secure, and fully cloud-based. This is exactly what we mean when we say we've simplified the complicated.
