Building the Foundation: Our First Major Healthcare Partnership

When Hudson Cloud Systems was asked to take over IT for a large orthopedic practice, it marked a turning point in our company's journey. The organization's infrastructure had collapsed after a failed system update, and we were tasked with bringing it back online and into the future. What began as an emergency recovery quickly evolved into a complete modernization effort spanning multiple offices. We rebuilt their network from the ground up, implementing Cisco firewalls, secure wireless, and VPN connectivity to link locations across the region.

Transforming the Clinical Experience

Our work did not stop at stabilization. We partnered with Athenahealth to digitize their paper-based records and introduced a secure, centralized Citrix desktop environment that unified every department, from front desk check-in to physician workflows and billing. We integrated imaging systems through DicomGrid, enabled Imprivata tap and go authentication for fast and secure access, and deployed laptops with Dragon Dictate to streamline clinical documentation. These enhancements improved reliability and security while allowing providers to maintain full patient volume throughout the transition.

A Defining Moment for Hudson Cloud Systems

Supporting this orthopedic group was a defining engagement for Hudson Cloud Systems. It taught us what it truly means to support healthcare, where uptime, privacy, and usability intersect in real time. The success of this project became the foundation of our evolution from consulting firm to managed IT provider, shaping the expertise that would later guide our work in dental schools, clinics, and other complex medical environments. In every way, this first partnership set the stage for who we are today.
